Esthetic Bonding at Northbrook Dentistry
Esthetic bonding uses a tooth-colored composite resin to restore and enhance teeth, offering a natural-looking, quick, and affordable solution for minor dental issues. Ideal for repairing chips, closing gaps, reshaping, or covering discolorations, bonding is a fast procedure often completed in a single visit.
Benefits of Esthetic Bonding
Bonding restores both appearance and function with minimal alteration to the natural tooth. The material is sculpted and polished to match your teeth, ensuring a seamless blend with your smile.
Common Uses for Esthetic Bonding:

Esthetic bonding is typically completed in one appointment. After numbing the area, your dentist will prepare the tooth by cleaning it thoroughly and, if necessary, removing any decay. If the bonding area is close to the tooth’s nerve, a protective layer may be applied for added comfort. The bonding material is then carefully placed, shaped, and polished, restoring the tooth’s natural appearance and function.
Some sensitivity to hot and cold temperatures is normal right after bonding, but this should subside as the tooth adjusts.
At the end of your visit, you’ll receive care instructions to help maintain your bonding. Consistent oral hygiene, healthy eating, and regular dental check-ups will ensure it lasts as long as possible.
